Going Over Order Types (Chapter 2 of 5)
Welcome back! Last time we covered picking up articles to write and getting paid, but there's more to learn about Content Runner. In this chapter we'll go over the types of orders you might encounter.
Whether you've been writing for a while or you just signed up, you've probably noticed that not all the projects available on Content Runner are alike. In fact, there are several different types of order: Open Orders, Contact Orders, Pool Orders, and Direct Orders. The biggest difference between these orders is how the User and Writer interact. Here's a brief rundown of the difference between the order types:

Open Orders: These are posted by Users who don't have a particular Writer in mind, and they haven't requested to be able to approve a Writer before they start working on the article. If you see an Open Order you can pick it up and start working immediately—just be sure to go over the details before you accept it so that you know you have enough information to work with.

Contact Orders: These are posted by Users who have requested to approve a Writer before they start work on the project. If you click "Contact", you'll see all the details about the article, as with a Open Order, but instead of being able to accept the project and begin working you'll be prompted to contact the User through a message. This message is your chance to sell the User on why you'd be the best Writer for the job, so don't be shy! When the User accepts your offer, you'll be able to start working.

Pool Orders: These are posted by Users who want their article to be written by any of a group of Writers they've selected and included in a Pool. Pool Orders can only be accepted by the Writers included in the Pool to which the article has been assigned by the User. Pools are filled up by the User, and can be based on any number of criteria, like the Writers' areas of expertise. If a User likes your work, they may include you in one or more of their Pools—if they do, you'll get a notification letting you know.

Direct Orders: These are sent directly from a User to a specific Writer, and are only available to that Writer. After you've worked with a User a few times and developed a relationship, it's not uncommon for them to want to send you Direct Orders for projects for which they feel your writing would be a good match. You have the option to accept or decline a Direct Order, so if you get one you weren't expecting or that you're not interested in writing, you're under no obligation to write it.
